“Barberà també és polígon”

The “Barberà també és polígon” initiative took place on Saturday, 18 April at the Santa Maria industrial estate in Barberà del Vallès. The project was based on a clear idea: to bring industry closer to the public and show them which companies are in their local area, what they do, and how they operate.
The aim is straightforward: to make it more appealing to look towards the local industrial environment, both for work and for collaboration.
At Joaquín Alberto S.A., we had the opportunity to attend the event and see first-hand how this format was organised.
The itinerary was well-defined. You could move between different companies, access their facilities, and hear directly from those who work there. There was no rigid script. Each company explained its activities in an approachable way, tailored to the visitor.
A dynamic, unfiltered experience
The experience was different at every stop. In the space of a single morning, you could go from learning about a production process to taking part in a tasting or watching a demonstration.
Companies such as ATP Packaging and Arabo Coffee Roasters gave a natural insight into their day-to-day operations. That direct contact, without any middlemen, was one of the most valuable aspects.
KM.0: the meeting point
The event wasn’t confined to the itinerary. The KM.0 space served as the central hub, offering a more open atmosphere.
This area was home to cultural activities, family-friendly events, and rest areas. This meant that anyone could take part, even if they didn’t complete the entire route.
Real conversations that create value
One of the most interesting aspects was the kind of interaction that took place. Visitors didn’t just stand and watch. They asked questions and wanted to understand.
How the products are made, what quality control measures are in place, and what roles are involved in each company. Direct questions that led to clear answers.
Impact beyond the event
The initiative did not remain a one-off event. In the days that followed, several companies received job applications and proposals for collaboration.
This confirms that opening up the company to the local community has a real impact. It is not just about visibility; it is about forging a direct connection with the local area.
An initiative with a long-term vision
These initiatives form part of the Barberà del Vallès Economic Development Plan 2025–2030.
The aim is clear: to raise the profile of the local industrial sector, foster a sense of local pride, and bring businesses closer to the community.
What really makes the difference
From our perspective, the most significant thing was seeing how our relationship with the industry changes when we can engage with it and ask questions without any barriers.
Initiatives like this reinforce something we put into practice every day at Joaquín Alberto: when you explain clearly what you do, the client makes better decisions right from the start.
