Sustainability Award

The sustainability award received at the first edition of the Learning Communities: Sustainability and Innovation conference reinforces Joaquín Alberto SA‘s commitment to integrating responsible practices throughout its activity.
Awarded within the framework of the Zero CO₂ Project, this recognition highlights the constant work to move towards a business model that is more respectful of the environment.
With Varpe – Control de peso, S.A. and ATP Enginyering & Packaging, we have been recognised for our emissions reduction plan, which already shows concrete and sustained results, with the carbon footprint reported for three consecutive years.
Our representative, Teresa Rovira, explained how we have made significant progress in calculating our footprint, adding new concepts year after year in our computer system, thus drawing a clear roadmap towards a more sustainable future.
Learning communities conference: a crucial meeting point for local sustainability
The conference “Learning Communities: Sustainability and Innovation”, held on 27 and 29 May at Nodus Barberà, has established itself as an essential forum for business sustainability in our municipality.
This meeting, organised to transform environmental challenges into competitive opportunities, brought together government, business, academia, and technology, facilitating a valuable exchange of knowledge and best practices.

Key issues such as sustainable water management, the circular economy and waste, and the energy transition, which are fundamental pillars for the future of any economic activity, were addressed.
Through different round tables, the good practices of local companies that are already leading this transformation in our territory were highlighted, sharing innovative solutions to convert environmental requirements into competitive advantages.
In addition, the participating companies had the opportunity to learn about the aid and subsidies offered by the different public administrations to facilitate this green transition.

The second session focused on the Local Office on Climate Change (OLCC) and the new European regulatory framework, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships to accelerate the green transition.
These conferences, which have actively promoted the decarbonisation of the local economic fabric through the Zero CO₂ Project, with the adhesion of 30 committed companies, reaffirmed that sustainability is not only a challenge, but a shared opportunity to build a fairer and more resilient economic model in Barberà del Vallès.
